It's my husband's birthday today, so we're having lobster tails for supper. I got frozen ones at Safeway, and we're just going to boil them up and eat them with garlic butter. Do I even need to take a picture of that? Of course I do, because I have no other hobbies.
The kids shared a bit of leftover salmon I saved from the salmon burgers the other night, and they loved it.
MAPLE HOISIN SALMON
2 tbsp. maple syrup
2 tbsp. Hoisin sauce
1 salmon filet
Bake at 450 F for 10-15 minutes.
I'm also getting ready for the big birthday bash this weekend. I wanted to make some appetizers that are simple (ie: here's a bowl of dippy stuff, here's a bowl of scoopy things.... scoop up the dip, and enjoy the party!) But of course, I need to do something a little creative, so here's what's on the menu.
I wish I were brave enough to make lobster at home!!
ReplyDeleteI need step by step instructions please. And then a link to those instructions.
We just bought frozen lobster tails from Safeway. They had small ones (4 for $8.99) and large ones for $8.99 each. You boil water, put the frozen tails in and keep them boiling for about 10 minutes. They'll curl up a bit, so you just crack them back, and keep cracking them until you can peel off all the shell. Dip in melted butter with garlic and that's it!
ReplyDeletedo you crack post 10 minute boiling??
ReplyDeleteYes, after they've boiled for 10 minutes, you take them out and crack them open on your plate.
ReplyDeleteoh Kathy, you're torturing me!! I want to eat at your house each night... I'm so mad/sad/desapointed we won't be there Saturday night!
ReplyDeleteI laughed when you mentioned the dippy stuff and the scoopy stuff. This appetizer party should be know as a Dippy/Scoopy party! LOL
