You may have noticed my blog has been a little quiet lately. That's because it's hard to post new recipes for you when I have no kitchen! We decided to do kitchen renovations, and they started last Monday. We have a friend who has built lots of beautiful kitchens, so we have placed our trust in him and we're hoping ours will turn out just as gorgeous! Mind you, anything would be an improvement from this:
Next came the mudding and sanding to smooth out the incredibly bumpy walls. Then it was time to prime the walls. As we discovered after taking down the white shelf that was next to the fridge, the walls had been painted a sickly shade of pale green. On Monday night he quickly and efficiently ripped out our entire kitchen. I was worried I'd hear him knock something out and then yell, "Oh crap!" as he discovered some awful secret problem lurking behind our cupboards. But it went off without a hitch, and the green & yellow kitchen was officially gone!
Don't you love the awesome wallpaper where the dishwasher was!
After two coats of primer, the kitchen already looked a hundred times better!
I've been gradually painting our entire house the same colours - I don't like when every room is painted a different colour, and I fell in love with a Benjamin Moore colour called "Revere Pewter" so last year I painted our dining room/living room, master bedroom, son's bedroom, and our brick fireplace this colour. And now it was time to transform the kitchen from butter yellow to a warm, soothing grey. (You can't see it in the pictures very well, but the ceiling is painted a creamy ivory, and I hope people will admire it because my neck and back paid the price for priming/painting that damn ceiling!)
Now we will sit back and wait for our friend to complete his kitchen magic, and transform our retro-fabulous kitchen into a brand new "Kathy's Kitchen"!! Stay tuned for more pictures and updates.

Great post! Good to see someone else in the same position as me! I am knee deep in some Kitchen Remodeling in my NJ home and it is such a mess! I am praying it ends as beautiful as I am hoping it will be! Good Luck!
There are some attention-grabbing deadlines in this article however I don’t know if I see all of them middle to heart. There's some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we wish extra! Added to FeedBurner as nicely casino slots
