Sex in a Pan

Of all the desserts I ate as a child, this one stuck in my memory not only because it's delicious, but because it's name must be said with a whisper and a giggle.  Lord help the mother whose child asks her the inevitable questions, "Why is it called that?"

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, Sex in a Pan is a simple dessert made with layers of pudding and cream cheese whipped cream.  And it tastes so good, some would say it's better than... you know what!

SEX IN A PAN
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
3/4 c. crushed pecans
2 c. whipped cream (I used 3 c. in this recipe, and there was way too much in the end.)
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. icing sugar
2 pkgs. instant pudding (2 different flavours - chocolate and vanilla are commonly used, and pistachio is often substituted for one of them.  I opted to use chocolate and pistachio.)
3 c. milk (divided)

Cream butter and add flour and pecans until crumbly.  Press into 9x11" pan and bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes.  Let cool.  Whip the whipping cream and set aside, then cream the cream cheese and icing sugar and fold the whipped cream into that mixture.  In separate bowls, beat each of the puddings with 1 1/2 c. milk.  To assemble the dessert, spread one of the puddings over the crust, then spread 1/2 of the whipped cream mixture, then the other pudding, and then the remaining 1/2 of the whipped cream mixture.  Sprinkle with shaved chocolate if you like (I only had unsweetened chocolate, so I opted not to do it, but it looks much nicer if you do).  Chill until ready to serve.
Not the best picture, but you get the idea.
