Beef Braised in Wine

Here's another recipe from Best Recipes Ever. It was delicious, and so easy to make.


The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the bacon - it wasn't nice and crispy since it was just tossed into the pot with all the veggies, so next time I would brown the bacon first and then crumble it into the stew before it goes intothe oven.

The meat was super tender, and the house smelled fantastic while it was cooking! The whole family really enjoyed this meal.
It was fun putting the dough around the edge of the dutch oven - it kept it nice and hot (since it came out of the oven about 30 minutes before we were ready for supper), and the kids loved cracking it off with a knife.
