All kinds of awesome!

My sister and brother-in-law introduced me to their favourite trashy show, Rock of Love, the other night, and we have been trying to incorporate some of Bret Michael's catch phrases into our daily conversation ever since. (Please do not click on that link unless you really want to sink down to our level... it's not something I'm proud of, but I did laugh so hard throughout the show that I think I actually stopped breathing at one point.) Our favourite quote is definitely, "You look all kinds of awesome!" and so I thought it was somewhat appropriate to use that as the title of this post, because tonight was all kinds of awesome.

We got a little wild and crazy tonight... the dads took the kids over to a friend's house to play a little "Rock Band" (4 men + 8 kids = all kinds of awesome) while my sister and I had a Spice/Tea Party (12 ladies + fine teas + gourmet appetizers = all kinds of awesome). The "spice" was Epicure Selections and the "tea" was Sisters Leap Exceptional Teas. Here's what was on the menu:

The Food:
Extraordinary Cheese Dip
Red Pepper Jelly with cream cheese on crackers
Blanc de Blancs Wine Jelly with cream cheese on baguette slices
Tiramisu Cheese Ball
Cranberry, Orange & Chocolate Biscotti

The Drinks:
Blue Mango Green Tea (iced)
Bohemian Raspberry Green Tea (iced)
Chocolate Mint Rooibos
Creamy Chocolate Chai

We had such a good time. I think "tea-sniffing" is my new favourite hobby. If you haven't had Chocolate Mint tea yet, you don't know what you're missing. I think I should put a bag of it in each of my dresser drawers so I can smell chocolate-minty all day long.

The iced teas we sampled were delicious. The Bohemian Raspberry was especially tasty with Mojito Rim Trimmer. (A little vodka wouldn't have hurt either.) I opted for the Paradiso Peach, Blueberry Skies, and Berry Berry herbal teas. The Pina Colada tea was calling my name (and whispering, "Just add rum!") but I decided to save that for my next tea party purchase.

If you are intrigued by some of these amazing tea flavours, make sure to join the mailing list for Sisters Leap and they will send you a free sample of tea in the mail!

You can also enter their Tea Blending Contest this month.... get creative and make a new flavour!

I'm definitely hosting my own Tea Party later in the spring, so if you know me in real life, consider yourself invited, and you too can experience all kinds of awesome teas!

OH Brett Michael's Rock of Love.... I can't believe you never had the pleasure of watching this program. Mike and I watch it for giggles all the time!!! I guess I let Mike stick around to "rock my world"! LOL

As for the teas and such how do they make the iced tea??? I have never made iced tea (other than from crystals!). I have signed up for their site... just waiting for my FREE tea!!

If you have a tea party I will order some through you!

I think you just brew the tea like you would for hot tea, and then let it cool in the fridge or add ice to the pitcher. You can add sugar if you want, but some of the teas are good on their own.

Yes, it was exactly like your party. Except that we spent a good portion of the evening trying to match teas with the perfect alcoholic beverage.

You are all kinds of awesome to me too. And so is tea-sniffing.
