Finally - a functional kitchen!

Our kitchen makeover isn't entirely complete yet, but after 5 weeks, we finally have a functional kitchen again!  Yes, that's right, we've got countertops, lights, and running water!  (Why is it that after 5 months of winter, my children still haven't learned to put their jackets away properly, and yet after 5 weeks of kitchen renovations, they are completely trained to take their dirty dishes to the bathroom?  Hopefully they will re-learn how to load the dishwasher now that it's back in business!)

Here's how the kitchen looks now:

I haven't complained once about washing dishes in my beautiful new sink!

The dishwasher got hooked up the day after I took this picture.  And I haven't complained once about loading/unloading it since then!

This is my favourite wall.  It used to be clutter and crap, and now it's clutter and crap hidden behind lovely cabinets.

 
Now we're getting down to the final checklist, which should be done by the weekend:

• a few more doors on the cabinets
• drawers
• doorknobs and drawer pulls
• more shelves
• under-cabinet lighting
• backsplash
• Ricky Martin clock
